This dolphin necklace is a one of a kind, handcrafted original by our master jeweler, Paul J. Badali. The necklace features four dolphins, two sets of mother dolphins swimming with their babies. The dolphin necklace is skillfully crafted in 14k yellow gold and holds a 1.69 ct natural crystal opal from the 7 Mile Opal Field in Coober Pedy, Australia. The stone is valued at $1500.00 per carat. Dolphins are considered symbols of kindness, playfulness, and serve as a bridge between man and the ocean. Opal is a traditional birthstone for October and is a mystical birthstone for April. Opal is thought to enhance beauty, imagination, and creativity. It is also thought to empower the wearer.
The dolphin mother and baby charms each measure approximately 13.7 mm (just over 1/2") from top to bottom, 16 mm (5/8") from nose to tail, and 3.2 mm (1/8") at the thickest point. The opal is held in a handcrafted 14k gold setting which hangs between the dolphin charms. The stone measures approximately 14.9 mm (just under 5/8") wide, 9.6 mm (3/8") tall, and 2.9 mm (1/8") thick. The pendant includes a 14k yellow gold Figaro chain with a 14k yellow gold clasp. The chain measures 1.3 mm (just under 1/16") wide. The necklace has a total length of approximately 19 3/4" (501.6 mm). The dolphin necklace weighs approximately 4.9 grams.
