Each pair of Ouroboros Earrings are skillfully handcrafted one at a time by the Badali Jewelry artists in your choice of sterling silver or 14k gold.  The snake eating its own tail, or Ouroboros, has symbolized many things over the ages, but generally represents ideas of recreation of self, unity, and infinity. The ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism world wide.  The Ouroboros appeared in Ancient Norse mythology as Jörmungandr, one of the children of Loki, who grew so large that it could encircle the world and grasp its tail in its teeth.

The earring are a hoop style and the snakes appear to go through your ears.  The ouroboros earrings measure approximately 20.5 mm (13/16") in diameter and 5.4 mm (just under 1/4") wide at the snake's head.  The snake eating tail earrings weigh approximately 4 grams (2 grams each) in sterling silver / approximatley 5 grams (2.5 grams each) in 14k gold.

The eyes of the snakes can be set with your choice of faceted 1.5 mm imitation birthstones for an additional $40.00.  Choose from man-made garnet, amethyst, aquamarine, diamond, emerald, alexandrite, ruby, peridot, sapphire, pink tourmaline, topaz, or blue zircon.
