The Mad Lancers™ were a cavalry battalion founded by the legendary Colonel Benjamin Styke™ in Brian McClellan's The Powder Mage™ trilogy. The Mad Lancers were famed for their bravery and recklessness, as well as wearing medieval armor laced with powerful protective sorcery. Original members of the Mad Lancers wore a large skull ring with a lance emerging from one of the skull's eyes and the battalion's banner forming the band. The largest version of the ring was worn by Ben Styke. The Badali Jewelry artist Paul Badali worked directly with Brian McClellan to create the Mad Lancer Ring replica. The Mad Lancer Ring is officially licensed with the author.
The Collectors version of Ben Styke's ring is skillfully crafted in white bronze. The ring replica is available in one size only (approximately size 15 1/2) and is intended for display purposes only. The ring is not sizable and should not be worn on your hand, wearing a white bronze ring will turn your finger black. Wearable versions of the ring are available in sterling silver, Click Here to view. The ring measures approximately 31.7 mm (just under 1 1/4") from head to chin, 22.4 mm (7/8") wide at the skull, and stands 12 mm (just under 1/2") off the finger. The back of the band measures approximately 11 mm (7/16") wide. The ring weighs approximately 46.8 grams. The underside of the skull is partially carved out to reduce weight and insure successful casting. The inside of the band is stamped with our makers mark and copyright.
The Collector's Mad Lancer Ring can be worn as a necklace. A 24" long stainless steel rope chain is available for an additional $5.00.
