The Gandalf ® Riding Gwaihir™ Necklace was inspired by The Hobbit ® and The Lord of the Rings™, by J.R.R. Tolkien. Gandalf sits atop Gwaihir, the greatest of the eagles of Middle Earth, as he and Thorin and Company™ escape the Wargs™ and Orcs they encountered on their journey to the Lonely Mountain™. Each Gandalf and Gwaihir necklace is skillfully handcrafted one at a time in your choice of sterling silver, 14k gold and 14k white gold.
Gwaihir clutches your choice of 8 x 6 mm gemstones. Choose from natural amethyst, black onyx, carnelian agate, garnet, hematite, iolite, jade, lapis lazuli, malachite, moonstone, star diopside, tiger's eye or turquoise gemstones or dark blue, light blue, green, purple, yellow, orange, and white synthetic fiber-eye stones. Due to the nature of natural gemstones, variations will occur from the examples shown. Stones with a cat's eye such as Tigers Eye or Moonstone, the placement of the eye may not be perfectly vertical.
The Gandalf and Gwaihir pendant measures approximately 37.2 mm (just under 1 1/2") long by 26.4 mm (just over 1") wide. The pendant weighs approximately 4 grams in sterling silver, approximately 5 grams in 14k gold.
Choose from a 24" long stainless steel curb chain, an 18” long gold filled cable chain, a 24" long gold plated curb chain, or a 24" long black leather cord. An 18” long sterling silver cable chain is available for an additional $9.00, a 20" long 1.2 mm sterling silver box chain for $25.00, an 18" long 14k yellow gold rope chain for $175.00, or an 18" long 14k white gold rope chain for $175.00.
