Each Thor's Hammer Necklace is skillfully handcrafted one at a time by the Badali Jewelry artists in bronze.
Described in Norse mythology, the hammer MJOLNIR belonged to Thor, the Norse God of thunder. The Elder Futhark runes on the pendant read from right to left: MJOLNIR, (mo-yol-nir) the name of Thor's hammer. Mjolnir is commonly thought to mean "That which smashes". Wearing the hammer of Thor is an expression of strength and determination. Ancient Norse was written from right to left, which is why the hammer's name appears in that order.
The Thor's Hammer pendant measures 31.8 mm (1 1/4") long, 22.8 mm (just over 7/8") at the widest point, and 5.8 mm (just under 1/4") at the narrowest part of the handle. The hammer necklace weighs approximately 5 grams in bronze. The back of the pendant is partially carved out to reduce weight.
Comes with a 24" long gold plated curb chain. Additional chains are available on our accessories page.
