The Emeralds of Girion was a necklace belonging to the last Lord of Dale,given in payment for a coat of armor made by the Dwarves of Erebor. The necklace was described as being "made of five hundred emeralds green as grass" and was one of the fabulous treasures discovered in Smaug the Dragon's hoard. At the end of the Battle of Five Armies, Thranduil the Elven king of Mirkwood, was given the necklace by Bard the Bowman in gratitude for his assistance.
Details: The Mirkwood Necklace is cast in solid sterling silver and is set with a 12 x 10 mm emerald green cubic zirconia. The Elven pendant measures 31.1 mm long including bail, 22 mm at the widest point and 6.2 mm thick at the gemstone. The necklace weighs 5 grams and is rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing.
