" 'Yet maybe this will lighten your heart,' said Galadriel; 'for it was left in my care to be given to you, should you pass through this land.'  Then she lifted from her lap a great stone of a clear green, set in a silver brooch that was wrought in the likeness of an eagle with outspread wings; and as she held it up the gem flashed like the sun shining through the leaves of spring."

Elessar, also known as as the Stone of Eärendil, is a silver eagle brooch set with a great green stone. Elessar was given to Aragorn by Galadriel as the fellowship departed Lothlórien in The Fellowship of the Ring.

Galadriel gave Elessar to Aragorn on behalf of Arwen as a token of hope and of Arwen's love. Uplifted by Arwen's gift, Aragorn assumes the role of leader for the fellowship. By accepting the brooch, Aragorn also accepts his destiny as the rightful heir of Gondor. The brooch would also serve as the source of his ruling name, King Elessar. Bestowing the Stone of Eärendil to Aragorn also functioned as a wedding gift from the family of the bride to the groom, foretelling Aragorn's marriage to Arwen.

Stone Options: Great Green Glass Stone or Emerald Color Cubic Zirconia (+$70 USD). Please note that the glass may contain flaws such as small bubbles or scratches. 

Dimensions: Elessar measures 62.2 mm long, 32.4 mm at the widest point and 10 mm thick at the gemstone.   

Weight:  Elessar weighs 25.8 grams - weight will be 5 grams heavier with the cubic zirconia. 

Stamp and Makers Mark:  The back is stamped with our maker's mark, copyright, and sterling.

Chain Options For necklace version: 24” Stainless Steel Rope Chain. Additional chains are available on our accessories page. (Due to the weight of Elessar, we do not recommend smaller chains, such as the 20” sterling silver box chain or the 18” Sterling Silver Cable Chain)
