H.P. Lovecraft wrote about the Elder Sign in The Shadow Over Innsmouth and The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath. The elder sign is used in defense against the Deep Ones, they can not harm someone protected by the Elder Sign. The earrings feature the handwritten symbol that HP Lovecraft included in a 1930 letter to Clark Ashton Smith.

Details: The Elder Sign dangles are finished with a black antiquing and include 14k gold ear wires. The earrings measure 23.1 mm long, 15.1 mm wide, and 1.4 mm thick. The earrings weigh approximately 7.8 grams (3.9 grams each). The back of the earrings are textured and stamped with our makers mark and metal content.
