In Kevin Hearne's Staked, the brass knuckles are presented to Atticus's arch druid by Creidhne, the Tuatha Dé Danann God of craft. The knuckles are etched with Celtic bindings, enchanting the weapon so that they are unbreakable, provide Owen extra strength, and serve as a power reservoir for Gaia's energy - just like Atticus's bear charm. Creidhne created the knuckles so that they will to adapt to the forms Owen takes when he shape-shifts. As a bear, the knuckles encase Owen's claws; as a ram, they cover his horns; as a walrus, they cover his tusks; and as a kite, they move to his talons.
Details: The Owen's brass knuckles are solid brass and measure 42.7 mm long, 26.6 mm wide, and 2.7 mm thick. The pendant weighs 12.6 grams and is three dimensional and is finished on both sides.
